There’s so much we can do for animals – provide health care, adequate shelter and showering them with endless love. Trust from our most loyal fur friends come a long way and require a significant amount of patience, but the results are forever and priceless.
A 40-year-old dog was spotted looking weak at the side of an old building in Los Angeles, California. It was brought up to the attention of Ellen and Deity Animal Rescue group by a concerned citizen.
One of the rescuers named Lindsay Bird stated that all of them from the Rescue team feared that the dog might be sick or worse, injured. Despite the heavy rains and the downright cold weather, they rushed to the place where it quietly laid down.
When they found him, the dog remained motionless and stared at them – looking pale and sad. They attempted to feed the dog some hamburgers from McDonald’s, and that’s when things started to progress.
The dog finally allowed one of the rescuers, Ellen Ballon Dante, to come closer to him. Slowly and carefully. Dante fed the pooch pieces of the hamburger until the dog ate from the rescuer’s hand and gave it a small kiss of gratitude.
Once the dog finally sensed their good intentions, he let them put a thin leash on him. No pressure from the humans because of the probability that the dog might retreat in the bushes.
Following the hamburger bits the other rescuer placed, the dog gradually gets up and leaves the bushes and graced them with a long warm dog stretch – indicating the huge amount of trust.
It halted by the wheels of the car – afraid to go up. Luckily, police on patrol drove by and helped them by pep talking the dog into getting in the car, and so it did.
The dog has been diagnosed by Century Veterinary Group with some ear infections, severe kernel cough, skin infections, and the dog also needed to be neutered.
The dog got cleared not long after. Now his rescuers named him ‘The Dude’ and currently looking for a new home for him to be his forever home. Dogs can sense whether you or not one can be trusted. Let’s keep restoring their faiths in us human beings.
