A man named Andres Fabricio Argandoña Tapia drives the trains through Llay Llay in Valparaíso Region of Chile. One day, he saw something like a dark spot on the onward tracks. It blocks the path, so when it did not move away from the trail, the conductor immediately stepped on the breaks.
It was a few feets away from the train, and there it was a dog with black and white fur. Andres exited the train and documented the whole scene with his phone while approaching the dog.
When the conductor saw the dog, it tugged at the chain that attached him to the tracks – he’s barking and wagging his tail in excitement. Andres wondered what kind of person did this cruelty – a person who tied a dog to the road, left to die. Thankfully, Andres was able to stop the train and saw the dog in time.
Andres decided to post the video on Facebook, and since then, it has gone viral. People viewed it over 300,000 times. Andres said that he unchained the dog afterward and set him free – the dog was happy he got to go.
The viral video reached the Mayor of Llay Llay, Edgardo Gonzales. And in response to this, they launched a criminal investigation to give the dog justice. The mayor remarked how shocking and cruel the incident was; he firmly condemns the act against animal cruelty.
He praised the conductor for rescuing the life of the puppy. The municipality will take actions to bring a lawsuit against the person(s) who did this. If found, they will also provide the dog veterinary health care, deworming, sterilization, and microchips. They will also put the dog up for adoption so he will have a forever home.
I hope more people will step up as Andres did – together we can fight to protect animals with cruelty. Witness the miraculous rescue below:
